Utah Licensing Requirements
The requirements for becoming a Utah Bail Recovery Apprentice are
> Take the required training course.
> Find a licensed bail enforcement agent to sponsor you for 2,000 hours while
you get on-the-job training and experience.
> If you intend to carry a firearm while doing this work, an additional firearms
training is required. We have partnered with BCI certified firearms instructor
Chris Willden of Strategic Tactical Group to offer this training.
> Submit an application to BCI.
> Pass a background check and be found free of any felonies and certain
misdemeanors (expunged charges do not count against you).
> Be approved for a license by the Bail Enforcement Licensure Board which
meets quarterly. Next board meeting will be April 22, 2010.
