Utah Licensing Requirements

The requirements for becoming a Utah Bail Recovery Apprentice are

         >  Take the required training course.

         >  Find a licensed bail enforcement agent to sponsor you for 2,000 hours while
you get on-the-job training and experience.

         >  If you intend to carry a firearm while doing this work, an additional firearms
training is required.  We have partnered with BCI certified firearms instructor
Chris Willden of Strategic Tactical Group to offer this training.

         >  Submit an application to BCI.

         >  Pass a background check and be found free of any felonies and certain
misdemeanors (expunged charges do not count against you).

         >  Be approved for a license by the Bail Enforcement Licensure Board which
meets quarterly.  Next board meeting will be April 22, 2010.
